K111E confers a gain of function on the Pik3ca protein as indicated by increased lipid kinase activity and phosphorylation of Akt in cell culture (PMID: 22949682, PMID: 17376864) and demonstrates increased transformation ability in two different cell lines, as compared to wild-type Pik3ca (PMID: 29533785). |
